"The Gruffalo is my favourite book because it was the first one I read to both of my children when they were still babies. Both of them pretended to read it when they were toddlers and were able to recite it by heart. It will always be a very special book in our family."
"My favourite children's book is "I Knew you Could" because it presents a great analogy between real life and the Little Blue Engine's journey."
"My favourite picture book is Zog. It was difficult for me to pick between all of the Julia Donaldson/ Axel Scheffler books, because I do love them all. But Zog gets a special mention because of Princess Pearl, who is tough, smart and awesome and not at all like the ones in fancy dresses that I had to read about when I was a young girl! For me, she is the real hero of the story!"
"I like it’s peaceful colour and poetic words, the way explain the tea is simple and clear. A book written by a Taiwainese writer, illustrated by a Italian artist on a simple topic worldwide known. It’s interesting to see such cooperation. And the most is the book reminds me those years I worked on Chinese tea when I was in France."
"Where The Wild Things Are was my favourite book because I liked the exciting adventure story and I thought the monsters were weird and cool. Also, I could relate to Max because I was naughty at home sometimes, and one of the monsters looked like my dad (Not the chicken! The one with the stripy top and the beard)."
"I first read this book to my niece about 15 years ago, and still remember laughing out loud at the dragon planning to have “witch and chips” for his tea! Since then, I have shared it with many students, and read it over and over with my own son, so I must have read it hundreds of times. Packed full of wonderful words that trip off the tongue, it’s an absolute pleasure to read aloud, so I never tire of it. It’s hard to choose from all the wonderful children’s books out there, but this one has brought me so much joy that it will always have a special place in my heart."
This is my favourite book! I like it because it's a funny story. The end of the story is surprising and make me laugh.
"I love books written by French author & illustrator Philippe Corentin because they are really funny & smart. The children's characters in his books behave differently from what is expected. In this one, the author has modified the traditional "Little Red Riding Hood" story to surprise the reader. The usual sweet naive little girl is a naughty & playful little girl with a big personality. I also really love the secondary characters in Philippe Corentin's illustrations and his narration."
"Tony Ross uses funny, expressive cartoons and lighthearted text to emphasize the importance of good hygiene. This is an educational and entertaining picture book for children."
"This is my favourite book because it makes the children laugh a lot. I have read it to both of my daughters and enjoyed a lot making all the noises and hearing them giggle. On top of it I love the sense of humour of the author and all the words he uses. I have planned to read it to my class next week and I am sure they will love it!"
"I always loved pop-up books when I was a kid; I was always intrigued by how they worked and thought they were so clever. The Wide Mouthed Frog was written when I was already a young man but I read it to my own two children now and they love it! It's short, funny and clever, and the pop-up pictures are a delight! If you haven't already read it, have a look and see if you can find it! You'll be glad you did!"
